We saw a clod roast on sale this week. Never having done one, we wanted to give it a try. It is a lean cut of meat a little on the tough side. Low and slow is the way to go here. We did a garlic pepper crust and injected it with a 50/50 mix of Country Bob’s Sauce and cranberry juice. It smoked for 8 hours at 275 degrees. It came out sweet and tender and we used the leftovers in our garlic soup, thinking this would be a great week for soup because of the storms.

We have had the pleasure of working with many bloggers who try out our sauce and blog their thoughts. Recently, we received this review from Michelle of the Because I Said So!!! Mom Knows Best! blog. She is a steak lover but did not care for sauce.
I think we converted her and her son. What do you think? Here is an exerpt from her review.

Good morning! What's cooking this Tuesday morning?
I wanted to share a tasty sounding recipe from another blogger that loves Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce. While tweeting recently, I saw a link come across from Tanya at Mommy Goggles. The link was to a post on her blog featuring a recipe that includes Country Bob's. It looked easy and tasty, so I wanted to share it with you.
She prepared meatballs for New Year's and had some leftover so she made Meatball Sandwiches. Click here to head on over to Tanya's blog found at www.mommygoggles.com for the recipe.

Next month, I will be at my first blogging conference, BlissDom, thanks to Country Bob's. In celebration, we will be hosting fun online giveaways during the event (keep a close eye on the blog, Twitter and Facebook for details). We can't wait to "Sauce It Up" in Nashville, Tennessee.
Where are you "saucin' it up" with Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce? We want to know.
We are kicking off a fun promotion and want you to join in. We'd love for you to send us photos of you or your family with your Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce. This will be like "where in the world is Country Bob's?". We want to know all the fun places our sauce travels once it leaves Centralia, Illinois. Do you send the great taste of Country Bob's overseas to a family member? Maybe you recently grilled a steak in a park while camping near a national landmark. Did you serve burgers and fries with the sauce at your child's birthday party (would love to see your kids enjoying it)? Is Country Bob's on the dinner table every night when you sit down for your family meal?
Send us a photo at the location of your choice. We'd love to see your smiling face in the photo as well, but the only requirement is that there is a bottle of Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce somewhere in the picture. If you use the seasoning salt or barbecue sauce, we'd love to see that as well. Please include a caption explaining where the photo was taken and you'll be entered into a monthly drawing for fun Country Bob's merchandise.
We will post some of the photos on our blog, Facebook page and Twitter along with your first name and city. Click here to email us your photos.
We can't wait to see all the cool places our sauce gets to visit!

This blog post is an exerpt of a post I did for Christmas on my personal blog and I wanted to share it with Country Bob's readers, too. It applies to any day of the year.
Recently, I was looking through the cookbook that my grandmother had when I was growing up. It is filled with recipes written in her handwriting (and mine too when I was a little girl). It has recipes from loved ones, friends and family and many that my grandmother, Nanny, made up throughout her life. Hidden in with the family recipes and potluck ideas was this little gem that my grandmother wrote many years ago. My grandmother is no longer with us on earth, but her love is still here.
My prayer is that your Chirstmas day was filled with love, joy, happiness and the true meaning of Christmas! I also pray that you have a happy new year, filled with all of God's blessings.

Good morning! So, how many of y'all tried out some of the unique uses for Country Bob's from yesterday's post? I have to raise my hand. I just HAD to try dipping pretzels in my favorite sauce. I admit I wasn't sure how I'd like it. It was good. It was very good! Thanks for the tip, Beth!

Yesterday, I asked for blog post ideas on Facebook. Facebook fan Beth gave me this idea... "What is the most unique way your family uses Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce?" Wonderful idea. We had a great response to this question. Here are some of the unique ways our Facebook fans use Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce.
"One bottle of Country Bob's, one jar of applesauce, sliced an onion thin and pour over a pork roast in the crockpot and slow cook all day." - Sharon
"This one isn't for the sauce but for the seasoning. Slice potatoes VERY thin, deep fry and sprinkle with Country Bob's Season Salt as soon as you take them out. Not a better chip around." - Ellen
"I use Country Bobs on top of our BBQ pork potato skins! Potato skins, pulled pork, Country Bobs, shredded cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream! Yummy!" - Jennifer
"Best thing to dip french fries in - I put country bobs on my country bobs!" - Tracey
"One can of beer, one bottle of Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce. Add 2 pounds of sliced wieners and cook in crock pot on low for 6 hours. I serve as an appetizer at parties. Guests serve themselves. I supply toothpicks for spearing." - Cathy
"Chop sweet potatoes and coat with sesame oil, begin to roast...simmer Bob's with ginger, a bit of OJ or cider, and a bit of mloasses. When the potatoes are almost done, pour over potatoes and continue roasting til sweet, sticky, and irresistable! oh, i also like it in leftover roast turkey/chicken salads!" - Erin
"At my house we call it "CBS"- as in, "Mom, where is the CBS?" and my daughters use it on every kind of meat- even Turkey at Thanksgiving. And my oldest daughter takes it to college with her to dip her pretzels in!" - Beth
In addition, I have a blogging friend who told me that when she was pregnant she drank Country Bob's. :) Talk about a craving! I enjoy chatting with Country Bob's fans on Facebook. Join us, won't you? It's your turn now... what is the most unique way you use Country Bob's? I might just use your idea in a future blog post.

These were something special Patti dreamed. Literally she had a dream about these. These chops are almost 4 inches thick and sweet and tender on their own. Then, Patti made a cranberry stuffing and a zesty cranberry sauce.

Growing up in Fallbrook, California we had access to REAL avocados. My mother would make guacamole in a huge bowl and my dad would set up the waffle iron. Dad would heat up big flour tortillas in the waffle iron and sail them to your plate like a Frisbee. Then, we would fill them with guacamole and eat them like big burritos. Mom made it with bacon, sweet onions, tomatoes and cilantro. Over the years I have added red pepper and garlic. Oh, this is good stuff. We sometimes have it just for dinner.

What is your favorite Christmas carol?
Growing up, our youth group at church would gather for a big Christmas party after the annual Christmas play. We would enjoy delicious food and sing religious Christmas carols. A highlight of the event was loading up on the back of a trailer for a big hayride.
I grew up in a very tiny Texas town and we'd ride down the country roads, stopping at the homes of the elderly and indigent to sing a song or two and spread some Christmas cheer. The recipients of this gift were always happy to see us and many cried tears of joy. We usually had a little care package of groceries, homemade cookies or another goodie to leave at the homes. Sometimes they would invite us in for some hot chocolate.

I am often asked how I stay positive in my Facebook and Twitter updates, in blog posts and in emails to friends.
How do you stay positive and upbeat in this economy? It's easy to focus on what you don't have and what you don't have to give, but how do you refocus and be thankful and positive about the things you do have? There are so many things you can give of yourself to your family and friends that don't cost a dime.

Steak Roll Up! Guest post by Ken Fisher of Date Night Doins BBQ for Two.
Tonight we wanted to do something a little different with some left over prime rib. We were talking about doing a sandwich of some kind and came up with stuffed br ead roll. As you can see I filled it with prime rib, sweet onion, mushrooms, garlic and lots of cheese…
For a sauce I drizzled on Country Bob’s all purpose sauce. Talking with Patti, she tells me that she uses it to season all kinds of things she wants to add just a little extra zing to. This turned out to be a real good sandwich.

Good afternoon, everyone!
How is the weather where you are? Country Bob’s is headquartered in Illinois, but I live in Texas, land of the crazy weather. One day it’s hot, the next day it’s cool and then hot again. Today it’s in the 80s, yesterday the high was in the 60s.
With that being said, it is barbecue and grilling weather pretty much year round here. My husband is constantly grilling outside. He makes a mean steak, delicious grilled chicken and tasty barbecued shrimp kabobs. We love to marinate all sorts of meat in Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce and, of course, we serve plenty on the side for dipping. We also love to season our French fries with the Country Bob’s Seasoning Salt and dip them in the sauce. When we make brisket, Country Bob’s Barbeque Sauce is perfect for dressing it up.
