Ground Beef Gumbo

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
2/3 cup chopped onion
2/3 cup chopped celery
2/3 cup chopped green pepper
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes, not drained
1 (15 oz) can Tomato sauce
1/2 cup Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce (or may substitute Spicy Hot)
2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste
1 (6 oz) jar sliced mushrooms, drained
2 cups frozen cut okra
2 bay leaves
1 1/2 Tbsp dried parsley flakes
2 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 1/2 tsp dried whole basil
1 tsp dried whole oregano
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
1/2 cup water
Hot cooked rice
2 Tbsp red cooking wine
Methods/steps
Cook ground beef, chopped onion, celery, green pepper, and garlic in a heavy Dutch oven over medium heat until meat is browned drain. Stir in remaining ingredients except rice. Simmer, uncovered, 1 hour. Remove bay leaves. Serve over rice.
